I'm Ed Chester — a personal trainer and life coach here in St. Petersburg. I've been where you are, and I'd love to help you get where you want to go. Let's work together.
People ask me all the time how I went from playing D1 football to personal training. The honest answer? A busted knee and a lot of soul-searching.
I spent my college years at the University of Florida wearing #94 and chasing championships — we won the national title in '96 and that team is still family to me. When my body said "we're done," I had to find a new way to channel everything football taught me: the discipline, the teamwork, the refusal to quit.
Turns out, helping someone hit a goal they didn't think was possible gives me the same feeling as running out of that tunnel on game day. I've been doing this for over 25 years now, and I still get fired up every single session. Whether you're rehabbing an injury, trying to get stronger, or just need someone in your corner — that's what I'm here for.
I don't hand out cookie-cutter programs. We figure out what you need, what you enjoy, and what's going to get you results — then we get after it.
One-on-one sessions built around how your body moves and what your life actually looks like. No two programs are the same because no two people are.
The gym is only part of it. I've rebuilt my own life after losing everything I thought defined me — and that experience is what I bring to our conversations off the mat.
I'm a huge fan of these tools because they build strength you can actually feel — picking up your kids, carrying groceries, moving without pain. Real life stuff.
This is where most of my clients realize they're having too much fun to notice how hard they're working. Great for stress, great for confidence, and you'll sleep like a rock.
A blown knee ended my football career, so I don't just understand rehab — I've lived it. We'll work with where your body is right now and build from there, safely.
This is what sets my work apart. I learned from the best coaches in college football that your mind quits before your body does. I'll help you close that gap.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Here's how we'll work together to find what's right for you.
I want to hear your story — where you've been, where you want to go, and what's been getting in the way. That conversation matters more than anything.
From there, I put together a plan that challenges you without breaking you. And as you grow, we adjust — because what works today might not be enough tomorrow.
I'll be right there with you. Physical strength and mental toughness grow together, and I believe real change happens when someone's in your corner.
Every step forward counts. I get just as excited about your progress as you do — maybe even more. That's the best part of this work.
Football gave me a lot, but the most important thing it taught me was how to show up for other people. That's what I try to do every single day.— Ed Chester
Wore #94 for the Gators. Won't Back Down! Go Gators! That locker room taught me more about accountability than any textbook ever could.
A knee injury took football away. Learning to walk again — literally — gave me a perspective on recovery that no certification can teach.
I got certified because I wanted every client to know I take their safety as seriously as I take their goals. The science matters.
Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida. Gainesville will always be home — but St. Pete is where I found my calling.
No pressure, no sales pitch. Just reach out and tell me a little about what you're looking for. I'm happy to answer questions or just have a conversation about where you're at.
